Is It Really So Strange?

Tell the truth: do you like The Decembrists' song, "The Sporting Life", from their album Picaresque? Wistful narrative, richly told, of course, but also that punchy "Touch Me"/"Lust for Life"-esque (and even, don't you think, a little "Say Hello to the Angels"?) accompaniment. C'mon, it's good, and you know it, and if you don't think so then tell me how much of a chance have you really given it? I mean skipping it when you listen to the album? That's just not at all how I feel about it, and I can't help but think that I can bring you around on it. What do you say, this time for real?
